United Methodist Youth Home

Through our Independent Living Program we help teens to overcome the obstacles to self-sufficiency allowing them to succeed in becoming independent, productive members of our communities. We emphasize the importance of setting goals, education, vocational planning, life skills training and development of values.

Our program serves male and female youth ages 14 - 21 who have not had stable adults in their lives, and live in foster homes, group homes or institutional settings in Southwestern Indiana.

Our experienced instructors teach participants how to:
  • Reach their academic potential
  • Set and achieve goals
  • Acquire and retain employment
  • Manage money
  • Obtain affordable, safe housing
  • Develop a healthy lifestyle
  • Utilize community resources
  • Apply to college and submit applications for financial assistance
