United Methodist Youth Home

Through our Independent Living Program we help teens to overcome the obstacles to self-sufficiency allowing them to succeed in becoming independent, productive members of our communities. We emphasize the importance of setting goals, education, vocational planning, life skills training and development of values.

Our experienced instructor teaches residents how to:

Reach their academic potential
Set and achieve goals
Acquire and retain employment
Manage money
Obtain affordable, safe housing
Develop a healthy lifestyle
Utilize community resources
Apply to college and submit applications for financial assistance
Maintain healthy relationships

Text Box: We have an education building, with computers and an after-school tutor to help residents with their homework and to keep in touch with their teachers.
